Topic	8th and 13th pick in the 2022 WNBA draft were waived before the season started

If you are good you play for 10-15 years which has taken up many of the spots on those teams rosters. So at this point it is basically 100-150 players between the international players, free agents, and draft picks fighting for like 25 roster spots each year. So a lot of messed up situations happen.
