i dont get how you do 80 hours. 11 hours a day for 7 days? what requires that much time doing?

At my old job, it started when they were moving to the new corporate office. I was the only network engineer at the time. We had all the equipment ordered, but we had about a two week time frame to get all the equipment physically installed and configured. It was multiple 12 - 16 hour days/week.

Then they wanted to open the Canada office around the same time and I flat out said that would have to wait because I didn't have any willingness to do more than the 80 hour weeks I was already doing at the time.

Then it turned into constant 60 - 80 hour weeks because they kept wanting to open multiple stores and warehouses all around the same time. I was scrambling to get everything done that was critical and then having to push many projects back so much that I was months behind on some things. And that's on top of the typical "Hey, my laptop won't connect to wifi," or "Hey, we're having internet problems in the office," or outage troubleshooting, etc.
