What I would claim is that the center right is basically politically homeless in US politics right now. The center right has governed the US for the last 40+ years. If they are politically homeless now, it must be because they did a terrible job of governing. That said, the center right still has lots and lots of actual power. Who's actually deciding what's included in legislation - Mitch McConnell or Marjorie Taylor Greene? The center right also has a lot of influence on the Democrats, with Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema effectively being more powerful than the whole far right at the moment.
