Besides, the vertical line of the + needs to be moved up and to the right, so it's not just adding a line. It works alot better drawn then using set numbers and plus signs from typing. With the + going as high as the numbers (so bigger +'s), when you add the vertical line (either diagonal or straight up from the left of the + sign). It looks like a normal written 4 either way (because the middle line can pass through the vertical line when drawing a 4. As far as making it true by adding a / again that would have to be written out and it would interconnect if you did (so wouldn't really look right as it would just bi-sect one = sign, not split two of them).
