Topic	Which country's cuisine has the worst Amerianized version?

I mean, from the limited exposure I have, American "Italian" food is nothing like genuine Italian food, but it's also generally pretty damn good food in its own right. How were you exposed to it? I am in The North East of US, so there are plenty of good Italian places around.
