I actually think it's the opposite...here in NYC you have a larger sample size of people (height, weight, race, etc) and along with all the Skyscrapers/Tall Buildings so I think most here wouldn't blink twice if they saw really tall people...I'm 6'3, but I also see several people taller than me on a daily basis In Manhattan itself I think anything goes, but there's real data for the state as a whole.
