The issue is that mobas tend to be very unforgiving. One mistake from one player can decide the game for the other 9 players.

You can play perfectly, but if the enemy assassin gets a double kill off a gank that could single handedly mean you lost that game. That you have to play for another 20 minutes.

Not to mention the balancing abomination that are 'hyper carries', aka characters designed to be able to 1 v 5 and come out on top.

Oh and certain mobas punish mistakes very harshly. It's bad enough that when you die, you give the enemy exp and gold, but some games make you lose gold for dying as well, this setting you back even further.

All of this, and in game tutorials tend to be packing, and you have a recipe for fuck ups being plentiful and far more noticable.

Compare that to raiding in an MMO, which usually requires multiple people fucking up and tends to give you more chances to fix mistakes.
