The Batman persona is overall very 'emo' and he was basically in that mindset and personality the entire movie.

I think the lessons he learned from this movie will lead to him learning that Bruce Wayne is an important part of his life in the sequels as well. Which will lead to him becoming a more public persona.

I just got into a long conversation with my brother on why he think this is the best Batman movie we ever got. At the end when Batman saw Catwoman wanting to murder her father, Falcone, when Riddler said he looked up to him and the unmasked Redditor shooter said "I am vengeance." all showed him that they all were taking "vengeance" message too far. His Batman persona had a very negative connotation as being fear instead of helping others. Which probably made the last scene of him helping those people out on the flood more significant because now he learns that he wants to be a more positive role model for his citizens. His relationship with Selina also probably will help him mellow out as well.

So yeah the negative is still that the last third act went on for a little too long, but I got more appreciation on what overall theme of this movie and what it wanted to convey. This is Bruce Wayne still learning the ropes and becoming the Bruce Wayne we all know and love. I'm very excited now on where they're going to take the sequels.
