UPRO seems like a safe long term investment, especially with a hedge and regular rebalancing. I agree. I understand the intense warnings for the inverse leveraged ETFs like SQQQ, but it's hard not to look at UPRO and TQQQ and not think they're not bad ideas if you have faith the S&P and Nasdaq will recover. Like now seems like too good and opportunity to start a position there to pass up --- Tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of Raymond K. Hessel's life.
