Solar Panels came with the house. I had no choice but to take the panels or lose the house. The panels themselves are not worth it. I haven't done the exact math, but the lease payments seem to be around the same amount as I'm saving on the electricity bill. So it's a bunch of hassle that I'm probably going to lose money on.

Also, apparently I'm forbidden to own a battery to store any of the electricity I generate. The power companies have outlawed it and SunRun laughed when I asked them about it. So I get to use exactly ZERO amount of the electricity I generate. It all goes to the power company. When the power goes out, I'm in the dark just like everyone else.
I don't know what state you're in, but Florida has a one to one net metering agreement. So any extra power generated during the day gets monitored and sent back to me when the panels aren't generating, in the morning or at night.
