(Because if Batman truly loses, Batman comics cease being published.) Batman has had his back broken, his master plans stolen (three times leading to major catastrophes), has wound up getting 3 out of his 5 Robins killed at one point or another, trapped in time, had his personality erased, and gotten kicked out of the Justice League. Also, at the end of Kingdom Come, he Batman gets his ass beat all the time. And without meta knowledge of Goku, would get destroyed without outside help. Also, about that "Batman beat the whole Justice League one time" shtick from Tower of Babel.
