Spurts of heart pumping action, and long lulls of looting and running around. It's like if you took the perks of a casual and competitive game and mixed it. Equal parts skill and luck. You can be super skilled, but happenstance kills you, or super lucky, and kill much better players. Similarly, depending on skill, it's possible to clutch out of a bad/unlucky situation, or squander opportune moments. Gameplay is novel and thus extremely attractive. But only time will tell what will carry the game with age.
