Why do conservatives hate the environment so much?

I mean I get that they love money. That's understandable. I mean it's what gives them power. But no matter how much money they have, they can't buy fresh air. And while they can buy fresh water--they won't be able to when it's all polluted up.

There's three main factors that feed into GOP climate denial:

1) An awful lot of Republicans are also Evangelicals, who believe the end of the world is near, the book of Revelations is literal truth, and that the environment doesn't matter because they're going to be Raptured up to heaven any day now.

2) Environmental protections mean environmental regulations, which hurt corporations' bottom lines. Republicans are the party of big business; ergo, GOP politicians can solicit or earn big corporate donations by pretending we aren't fucking up the world and haven't already fucked it up irreperably.

3) Liberals believe in climate change, and for a not-insignificant number of Republicans anything liberals believe in is automatically wrong and evil.

So to answer your question, I don't think anyone actually hates the environment - it's just that they have (for them) adequate reasons to not care about protecting it.

1 and 3 are fabrications. 2 is spun.

You actually don't believe people like 1 exist? Really?
