You were mostly fine, it is super hard to be a Mercs leader without a ton of prep. The first half of Mercs 4 wasn't me being clever it was me executing a years in the making plan because I had thought about Mercs a lot since Mercs 3. You were asked to run a team not your own and to do so on a confined schedule. You were fine. I would do things differently in your shoes, even ignoring my shady scheming aspects (I swear I can do good things without being chaotic evil) but you weren't bad.
