I've actually never seen an older person beat any other kid, except of course parents spanking their kids. this was a long time ago. like the 40s. nowdays you may get in trouble just for spanking your kids, and people wonder why my generation and younger is so fucked. edit: not that I agree with neighbors beating a kids ass. but all the backhands I took from my grandfather didn't do me any permanent harm.
