TopicWhy do leftists hate moderates so much?

In America conservatives mostly have a party of their own in the Republicans, while progressives don't really have a party because Democratic leadership has been compromised by moderates since the 90s.

Back then the excuse was "moderates win the elections, we can't go too far left," so people used to have to suck it up, but now that we see the moderates losing repeatedly the excuse doesn't hold. They lost the presidency to Trump, they lost the House, they lost the Senate, they've lost the majority of governorships. Yet still they refuse to release their grip on the party; their elite are still trying to find corporate-friendly candidates for 2020, they appointed a Clinton supporter to DNC Chair again instead of the compromise candidate between the Clinton and Sanders camps who supported both, he staffed the DNC with 95% Clinton supporters before public backlash made him reduce it to 80%, etc. And there's speculation that it's for the sake of protecting various contracts, lobbyist relations, wealthy donor interests, etc. rather than genuinely representing the people or winning elections.

Progressives just want a chance to try to beat the conservatives. If they lose they lose, but at this point they're being blocked from even playing by the moderates of the party who constantly take the positions of authority and nominations.

Tl;dr: The moderate wing of the supposedly left party is monopolizing control over the party despite constant losses, instead of allowing the party to try something new.
