The only thing you could criticize Andrew Jackson for as president is the Indian Removal situation, and that was a lose-lose situation.

He was a war hero and did many great things as president.

The one article mentions that he was a slave-owner... so were most of the Founding Fathers.

It was very bad but not genocide and yes is sad and monstrous but literally we wouldn't be here if he didn't do that

It was genocide, and "we wouldn't be here" is a horrible justification.

Also, I should clarify that I'm not saying Andrew Jackson personally committed genocide. He contributed to something that was going on before and after him.


I'm not saying his actions are okay, but in saying they were a vital part of our history and as far as we go as a country, yeah we may be better off with it.

Sad as it is just think for a minute.
