The only thing you could criticize Andrew Jackson for as president is the Indian Removal situation, and that was a lose-lose situation.

He was a war hero and did many great things as president.

The one article mentions that he was a slave-owner... so were most of the Founding Fathers.

"Indian removal situation"

That's an interesting was to say genocide.

Do you even know the history?

The Supreme Court said that the Indian Tribes who lived in Georgia would be allowed to keep their land. Andrew Jackson feared war between the Georgia militia and the Federal Government (who would defend the decision of the Court) + the Indian tribes, so he ignored the Supreme Court's decision and negotiated a deal with the Tribes by the Indian Removal Act, which was passed by Congress, to give them the land that is now Oklahoma.

Most people went to Oklahoma, but many refused to go and stayed in their home lands. Eventually there was a deadline for them to leave and everyone eventually left. But the people who left at the final deadline took the same paths as everyone else, so there was a lack of food & supplies and the paths were very crowded, which caused disease to spread.

That is the Trail of Tears. Andrew Jackson can be criticized for the situation, but not nearly as much as he is today by some people.
