Not only would that help prevent wasteful spending and abuse, but it might motivate them to get off the food stamps. With the bolded part, if EBT were half as tedious and restrictive as WIC, people would have to pay out of pocket for certain food choices and may even decide to use their extra money just to avoid the hassle.
