I am by no means well off. I could use that $36 to put food into my own refrigerator I'd prefer to live in a world where "help" didn't mean being given shit for nothing but rather be being taught how to care for and provide for yourself. Kind of the same reason I wouldn't do someone's homework for them: we all have difficulties, but we're supposed to be trying to get this right, not endless cry for help from others to avoid doing the work ourselves. Don't chew me out. I don't think there's shame in needing social assistance. I think there's shame in not seriously trying to get / stay off it, and keeping junk or luxury foods out of it is a decent incentive to ensure a job is a better option. Edit: I also don't care if I can afford it. I refuse to care for someone that isn't trying to care for themselves. I've got cousins like this: jobless, in their 30s, living with or off their parents, and likely to stay that way for life because no one wants to be the heavy and make them do things to help get a job like get up before noon and stop drinking and smoking weed to excess. --- ...
