At a minimum you need to worry about money to pay for necessities, but beyond that any other responsibilities are your choice. Don't want to take care of a pet? Don't get one. Don't want to take care of a house? Rent. Don't want to clean your house? Hire a maid service (with money of course). Don't want to be responsible for another life? Don't have kids. Just want to sit and play video games all day? Don't have friends. Life is only as hard as you make it. --- I am a senior software engineer.
