Yes, but typically not in developed, progressive cultures. Even in the late 1800s slavery was becoming increasingly unpopular in the US. I mean, maybe they could write it in as such that the Civil War so ravaged the US that it set us back 200 years?


Slavery still exists in 2017. In fact, there are more slaves now then there were 150 year ago
