But it sounds lazy. Like OmegaTomHank pointed out, I highly doubt slavery would persist that long if the South had won. Maybe if it was set in the years following the Civil War I could buy into it. Suspension of disbelief can only carry a show so far. They could do a lot of interesting stuff with me that basic idea, but what they've presented so far doesn't seem all that great.
