It's literally like a f***ing 30 second scene that you do this in. This is not that big of a deal. It's also not mandatory as you can complete that scene without spamming X. It was just put in there for immersion purposes.
Everything about the scene was horrible even if you didn't press X. This kid is like 12 or something and he wonders off. After the player meets up with him in place of yelling at him for walking off you are forced to get the kid a balloon. The kid wonders off once more, the game forces you to rummage around to find money to pay for it even after you notice the kid is gone. Then the kid gets outside for what to look at a TV screen. ---
