You always own your own appearance, but if you're making money off it, you can't play college sports. It's not really a hard concept to grasp. It is a very hard concept to grasp because it is bullshit. Playing sports in college shouldn't be a handicap. 99% of the student athletes are just students that want to play sports while they are there. If you are an academic scholarship student or belong to a school program that isn't athletic in nature, no one is screaming at you for making YouTube videos, washing your car, or having someone buy you lunch.
