If I start driving around 7:00AM, it takes nearly 4 hours in one direction. And what do I get in return for the commute? My 3,000 sqft tract house in the desert only cost me half a million instead of a full $1M in LA. Take a train or something. I am pretty sure there is public transportation in a big city like LA and the surrounding area. I'd have to drive at least an hour to the train first. Also, I don't expect the planned high-speed rail station to actually be built in my lifetime. Ride sharing companies have tried and failed to provide a solution.
