It's all bullcrap, to get a rise out of people. If you LEGIT don't know who he is fine. But don't be the fuck face who says dumb shit like "I DON'T WATCH TV, LISTEN TO THE RADIO, GO ON THE INTERNET ORE EVEN GO OUTSIDE DURR HURR HOW SHOULD I KNOW?!" It's foolish and obviously a lie.

But in the 80s, that was the only way to learn about new artists. Listening to the radio and/or watching MTV. They didn't have Spotify or Pandora or those kinds of things that would automatically give you artists similar to other artists you enjoy.

Now that we have that kind of technology, if I don't typically like music similar to a pop artists, they're not going to pop up on my stations.

If I go to a bar or something, there's a good chance I'll hear these songs, but mostly they'll be background noise to me and I won't actually know who the artist is unless someone explicit tells me about it which is a rare occurrence.
