The whole reason you make a game like this is because it has relatively low cost since you already have all the assets available (see: Marvel vs. Capcom 2). They could easily have flattened the Xrd models into sprites Donkey Kong Country style, considering the entire point of the Xrd art style is 3D models that look like sprites. --- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name...
