I haven't even watched all of the anime (got up to Water 7 on that). But even then, you're talking about 1 episode a day when hardly anyone these days does that with a show with the Netflix style services people get their media from these days. Sure the length can kind of be intimidating, but my philosophy with a large task is to break it down into smaller tasks. Try to finish a season (arc) in a couple weeks. Watch something else, then come back to it.

But reading it you can easily catch up pretty quickly. Takes like 5 minutes to read a chapter, maybe a little more if it's a particularly eventful one or if you seriously pore over every detail. If people can read ASOIAF in like a month then they can do the same with One Piece.

My point is that he literally called it "stupid" to see something nearly one thousand episodes long as daunting. Especially for most adults with full time jobs. Binge watching a show could be easy for a high school or college student, but not for a lot of adults with full time jobs when there's that much ground to cover (episode-wise). Also most "Netflix shows" aren't a third the length of One Piece.

And I just said the one episode argument since that's just the parameters he set, which are incredibly unreasonable (which was the point I was making). No idea what ASOIAF even stands for, but I do agree you can breeze through arcs pretty quickly in the manga. But 900 chapters is still 900 chapters, which can very easily seem like a lot, and thinking that isn't "stupid" or unreasonable in the slightest.

I agree, it can definitely seem daunting. But people with full time jobs also binge watch 100 episode series in their free time. Sure I wouldn't expect them to binge watch an 1000 episode series, at least not all at once. But you can make a dent in it, take a break and go to something else, and come back to it is what I'm saying.

But I do agree it's daunting, I wouldnt try to say it's a stupid argument like he said, I'd try to just put it in perspective that if you can binge watch breaking bad in a few weeks (which has hour long episodes, not 20 minutes) you can put a serious dent in one piece at the same time.

Also just FYI ASOIAF is "A Song of Ice and Fire" which is the book series Game of Thrones is based off of. Which is another series with hour long episodes it seems like everyone has binged watched or is up to date on.
