You have to understand I live in a very desirable area with high property prices and high wages (assuming you have a solid job). I don't make all too much.


Sounds like you're going to have to move somewhere you can afford.


You're from Massachusetts so you must be able to relate to this. I make 4000/mo. after taxes. I was using 1600 as a maximum amount (40% of income) in evaluating this.

Don't count out studio apartments though seriously. It's a bit more expensive then having a roomate, but it's all yours and do you REALLY need a bedroom if your a single guy? Your living room is your bedroom/entertainment room etc.


I'm not, I just haven't found one where i'd feel comfortable living there yet.

Also the other parts of your post, I can't really relate to, except that I can say the public transportation in the area is "okay".
