YT needs to stop trying to make its own stars by taking from the community and actually invest in quality content. The thing that the company forgets is that the big selling point of YT is that it's free so creating shows and expecting people to pay for it using talent that viewers associate with the free model is going to fail. The thing is, it's like making a movie out of a video game. It just doesn't translate across mediums. The real appeal of Youtube is that it was meant to give creators total freedom. To grow as an artist and experiment with new ideas. These Youtube Red "shows" just ooze the corporate feel. I really doubt the stars are there for anything more than the influence on their fanbase.
