I think you are right. this is definitely a very common way for people to act. but I don't know why they think they are being nice by doing it. from my perspective if someone lies to me that is way more offensive than them just telling the truth and saying they didn't want to go. maybe it just goes back to them wanting to make themselves look good rather than trying to be nice. like, they don't want to be seen negatively as a person who rejected me. but, then again, I think way more negatively of a person who just lied to me. so yeah. either way the whole thing is weird and makes no sense from my perspective. --- What is your favorite color? http://i.imgur.com/U0naSRE.png ...
