25 y/o Jacob Stockdale murdered his 54 y/o Mother, Kathryn and 21 y/o brother James in Ohio in a failed suicide attempt as the family starred in ABC's WIFE SWAP 9 YEARS AGO!!

Jacob is in stable but critical condition after he used a shotgun in the gruesome murders and the turned the gun on himself to his head..

The violent scene played out in their farm as the family was in a bluegrass band together.

Timothy, the family patriarch wasn't home as 2 other sons lived in a different town..

Sheriff George Maier said there was no issues leading up to the murder as they don't know what the motive yet for it. Timothy arrived shortly after 6pm and fell to his knees and crying when told about the shooting..

The family was a popular local band and just performed last Tuesday at Wild Cat Ranch as they had concerts throughout the summer. Kathryn was the band's manager..

It consisted of the entire family including Calvin, Charles, Tim and Jacob and James..

The older siblings moved out and then the band became a 4 man ensemble..

Neighbors said they heard 10-12 shots ring out between 1-3pm as officers arrived and spotted someone through the open door and heard a gunshot go off..

Neighbor Michael Fuller said "They are a deeply religious and conservative and this seems out of place"

On their website, Kathryn spoke out about their time on Wife Swap and said "Being a farm, home-schooling, bluegrass band family, we enjoy alot of common experiences, but we have to chalk the Wife Swap adventure as the grand family bonding experience for the Stockdales for which we will never be the same. The boys have little or no interaction with the outside world and dating is out of the question, including Calvin who is 19 at the time"

Calvin released a statement on his brother "James, our youngest brother has always been a catalyst of family fun..Jacob is still in critical condition and we are praying for his physical recovery a our family makes funeral plans and begins the healing process".
