I think it's the most damaging single target damage weapon, other than a fully upgraded endgame falcon punch or a fully upgraded damage specced Sniper. I think the logical followup to this is either 1) Flamethrower 2) Electopulse (how does this interact with the nanomachines?) or charge in and 3) rocket punch someone. Even if someone gets an attack off on MECs, they can shoot back in reaction. All I'm saying is MEC is serious business, but unlikely to have completely killed someone in the initial volley.
