Dante, Shulk, Bossman Coolguy, Yuri Hyuga, and Raziel have challenged Senator Steven Armstrong, Diablo, Bass, Chrom, Vanille to a fight! Location of the fight: Arena Ferox (Awakening) - Arena Ferox is as it appears in Fire Emblem Awakening, as an open colosseum. The only areas accessible in it are those within the map in-game. Both attackers and defenders will start at diametrically opposed entrances. Which side will win?


Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.

Dante is as he appears in Devil May Cry 4, though he does not have his canon regen. He may access Devil Trigger for up to 10 seconds every 5 minutes. He also has all of his weapons from Devil May Cry 3. He does not have access to Kalina Ann, Yamato, or any styles only seen in Devil May Cry 3. All of his weapons have been enchanted with divine power. Dante has been frozen solid for the first 5 seconds of battle, after which he'll thaw with no ill effects.

Shulk is as he appears in Xenoblade Chronicles, with all arts and skill trees learned and fully upgraded. He is equipped with the Monado II and Glory set of armour.

Bossman Coolguy is as seen in XCOM: Enemy Within as a Colonel of class MEC Trooper and carrying endgame equipment as well as a Particle Cannon and Paladin with the Hyper Reactive Pupils and Secondary Heart gene mods. His weapons will self destruct upon leaving his possession. Bossman Coolguy starts the fight by the enemy team.

Yuri Hyuga is as seen at the end of Shadow Hearts: Covenant, with access to all of his equipment and fusions, with the exception of Dark Seraphim. He begins the fight in his Neo Amon form.

Raziel is as he appears in Legacy of Kain: Defiance, with all of his upgrades, equipment, and abilities from that game, with the exception of Phase Shifting and Possession. Once per match if he dies, he will immediately reanimate to full health at his starting location.

Senator Steven Armstrong is as seen in his boss fight in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, with access to all of his powers and abilities. He cannot access Metal Gear Excelsius. During this match, It Has To be This Way will play loudly all over the terrain. Armstrong has been hit by Shulk's Back Slash. Armstrong has been bombarded by Bossman Coolguy's Particle Cannon.

Diablo is as he appears in Diablo 3 and Heroes of the Storm, with all of his attacks and abilities, although cannot turn into his shadow form. Diablo has been bombarded by Bossman Coolguy's Particle Cannon.

Bass.EXE is as he appears in the Megaman Battle Network series, with access to all the moves and properties of his Omega forms (including Bass Omega GS), though if any of his barriers/auras is destroyed, he loses access to all of them for the rest of the fight. He can operate here same as he does on the Net. He has Zero's X-Form as seen in Mega Man Zero 2. Bass.EXE has a magical barrier in place where the only elemental magic he can be affected by is Shadow magic, though both sides are aware, and no he's not limited to just magic of that type. He will lose the benefits of the barrier if he risks casting Dark Matter. Bass.EXE has been bombarded by Bossman Coolguy's Particle Cannon.

Chrom is as seen in Fire Emblem Awakening, as a level 20 Great Lord. He is equipped with the Exalted Falchion, Noble Rapier, Blessed Lance, and Gradivus and has the skills Dual Strike+, Dual Guard+, Aether, Aegis, and Rightful King.

Vanille is as seen in the postgame of Final Fantasy XIII, equipped with Nirvana-Belladonna Wand, Tetradic Crown, Ribbon, Magus's Bracelet, and Magistral Crest, all at max level. She has fully mastered the Ravager, Medic, and Saboteur sections of the Crystarium, and may freely switch between the roles. She may not cast Raise, Death, nor use any Techniques.

Will Chrom please the audience with another victory at the Arena Ferox? Or will his team be the next victims of the Bossman Slam? FIGHT!

alright so with bossman coolguy's destructive rampage he's going to distract the enemies in a valiant effort to save dear dante.

mec troopers are very good in short range, they have incredibly strong melee attacks and a fairly large electricity aoe that turns robots (i.e. bass) offline and stuns them.

no ones really fast enough to even get close enough to damage dante in 5 seconds, and...well he's flanked by 3 super good mercs too

Points in favor of Team Diablo
- Diablo and Armstrong are p good in a shoebox
- no Dante in opening onslaught
- Vanille probably gets a round of debuffs off which will help (reminder that she lacks access to her buffs without her locked forms)
- Bass cant be magicked basically

Points in favor of Team Dante
- Dante with divine weapons
- unsure bass, Diablo and Armstrong can make it to and defeat Dante in 5 seconds thanks to Monado shield and Bossmans mec.
- Raziel is going to be able to very quickly gank Vanille and cause lots of problems for Armstrong and Bass (especislly since he actually has a shadow Reaver)
- almost no magic outside of arguably Raziel who has an answer for it anyway.
- loads of buffs from Shulk
- photon canon bombardment is bad news, anti life aura is instantly popped, Armstrong may have a hole in his chest (which may or may not kill him before nano.machines kick in, bare minimum they make it hard for him to take advantage of frozen dante) diablo is hurt but probably not crippled

Hard to see anything that tips this scale in favor of Diablo unless you buy red lightning hose killing frozen dante and even if it does this is STILL a tight match

mec trooper is pretty damn good and tanky in melee range and has a shock field that disrupts. guy is gonna go down obviously but not without being a gigantic pain in the ass

So, endgame mec trooper particle cannon does a lot of damage, but not enough to outright OHKO mid to endgame tanky units. I think it's the most damaging single target damage weapon, other than a fully upgraded endgame falcon punch or a fully upgraded damage specced Sniper.

I think the logical followup to this is either 1) Flamethrower 2) Electopulse (how does this interact with the nanomachines?) or charge in and 3) rocket punch someone. Even if someone gets an attack off on MECs, they can shoot back in reaction.

All I'm saying is MEC is serious business, but unlikely to have completely killed someone in the initial volley. Probably a followup is required.

Thats a good point electo pulse temporarily disables robotic enemies so a shot from that renders Armstrong pretty weak.

Well, Armstrong is actually quite mortal without his nanomachines working properly or if he doesn't harden up (lol) in time. Like Sam taking off his arm on a feint, which was pretty cool.

Regardless with three heavy hitters getting hit by a fucking plasma cannon they aren't just going to no sell it. They'll be staggered, and there's time for a MEC trooper to follow up. In fact, a MEC trooper is best isolated. His shock field damages allies and I believe the flamethrower as well. No worries for friendly fire, more or less.

Eh, actually retract the counterattack thing; MEC needs to reload after bombardment, so has to switch to a secondary.

And yeah, thinking about it, if I was outfitting a MEC and knew they were starting out next to enemy team, I'd probably load out with: Kinetic strike, grenades and Electropulse. Maybe a tossup between endgame flamethrower and endgame kinetic strike. Proxy mines are great but not something that you'd want when you're up in someone's grill; same with the medic spray.

Bass has life aura + is a robot so probably isn't staggered

Diablo is beefy enough that I think he can probably take it. Would be worse if he was suplexed though since he'd start on the ground.

Nano Machines or not Armstrong's starting off really hurting here. Diablo's gonna be hurt by the particle cannon but not maimed by it and he'll probably rip the MEC in half as his first action.

Raziel's gonna have enough distractions to get in on Diablo and critically wound him, whether Raziel lives through it I doubt.

With all this going on, plus Shulk and Yuri kicking off I'm sure Dante gets out of Freeze in tact. So it's basically Dante and Shulk versus Injured Armstrong and Bass.Exe who's probably been buffed up a bit by Vanille before Shulk squishes her, and Chrom who I don't particularly rate against this opposition.

Anyway Electro Pulse shuts down alien tech so I really don't see why tech from the 2000s would be impervious to being shut down. Seems pretty bad for Bass and Armstrong all things considered.

Why wouldn't a plasma cannon shot to Bass disable Life Aura? That seems 'pretty strong'

Its range is pretty limited though; it's not exactly melee but it's pretty close. If I had to say, it's about two meters radius. It's not impossible to land, but the MEC would need to maneuver in order to use it. So it's possible that it's trying to punch Diablo instead or even a desperation reload is all he can do. Unless bass comes into melee range or something.

Bass has his copy ability here too, so anything nifty that the MEC can do, Bass can replicate. So if he sees a big boom he can turn that around

I actually don't agree with this. I don't think that things that happen as an ability impact the fight anymore than it explicitly says in the ability.

This says he is as seen in XCOM starting next to the enemy team, not as seen in XCOM with an empty clip and needs to reload.
