They eat at restaurants and tell you if the food is good enough to warrant going. They drive cars to figure out what the best and worst values are in any given class of vehicle. They let you know that the Red Hot Chili Peppers have put out an album that is not fundamentally different from the last one, so if you liked or disliked that one, you know whether or not to bother listening to it.
