Sometimes you need to step away from the game to take care of real life matters. It doesn't matter what game it is.

Games already have a pause feature online that doesn't halt the game itself, it just gives you the option to access the pause menu as the game continues. It's an industry standard at this point, and there's no reason not to have it. Why anyone would advocate for it to be removed is beyond me, outside of some misplaced sense of elitism (i.e. "git gud", despite the presence of a pause button having nothing to do with skill) or just lapping up some corporate Kool-Aid about it being "archaic game design" or "not feasible to program any more".

You're a grade-A moron if a pause menu is something that you judge other people for using.

I mean, locking the "exit match" option for ranked matches? That's fine and dandy. Let people customise that shit, lock people in so they don't quit like a bitch. But there's no reason to remove it altogether.

EDIT: thought this topic was about SoulCalibur. This post could work either way, but that last segment of my post doesn't fit Dark Souls at all.
