It's fine for Mitch Landrieu to cite Alexander Stephens' cornerstone speech about slavery, but it really misses the mark to claim that he was the mouthpiece for all confederates. Especially when he voted to stay in the Union! I'm sure people here don't want to be judged by their posterity based on Donald Trump quotes, but that's exactly he's doing with Alexander Stephens.
