i look at everything from a data-centric POV because i am a robot

if their marketing dept is just spitballing this stuff they should be replaced with a better marketing dept that would cross-analyze body types and marketing campaign impacts on sales results. tradition has no purpose.

and honestly everything about social media is pretty heavily curated by most marketing teams so the fact that they don't have a gag order already is shocking.

i wouldn't be surprised if there is an agreement across companies that actions like this one would render the model in question unemployable but we'll see--there's probably points to be scored right now by CK or some other competing firm picking her up

to be clear again i still think all of this is evil, but i do not believe calling it out for being evil will make it be less evil

might make it be less stupid, though.

Well, you have to agree that there's a big difference between just spitballing and having perfect data for these sorts of things? Remember, you're from an industry where your reasoning is a lot more easily applicable.
About social media being curated? You'd be surprised. Some of the more successful beauty vloggers are the ones that often criticize products instead of just praising them. And sure, beauty isn't fashion, but I definitely believe that there's a big overlap in audiences. An issue like this getting attention could be devastating. I reckon that eventually one day something will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
