Still trying to figure out the gender-split issue, but a Pew study turned up something interesting: LBGT individuals are less likely to be high earners than the general population:

At any rate, a Guardian article seems to suggest that men are at least 1.5x more likely to be gay than women. By contrast, the old Kinsey number suggested 2:1.
