The point is that it is all leading up to SSJ3.

• Spikier hair standing on end almost as if hair was growing straight up (get it? cuz SSJ3 hair grew longer).
• Ever present lightning. I'm talking like this shit is lashing out randomly and all over the place. SSJ2 would NOT have a "powered down" mode. That would just simply be FPSSJ.
• Glowing would also be less controlled, unlike SSJ1.
• Eye being a darker green would also foreshadow the pupil that appears in SSJ3. Besides, red is such a inconsistent color. Super Saiyans have always been green eyes, yellow hair.
• Facial expression will be sadistic. That's different than anger or rage.
• About muscle definition, I'm just going to address this as I would everything else you're writing off as "varied art style". THAT is the problem with DBZ in general. They don't make a point to draw the differences. It's not the fault of the described form, but the laziness of the animators.

Almost every SS1 hair go straight up. And longer hair itself doesn't make it look like different form; you'd just look like a long hair SS1.

Lmao dawg artists and animators are not going to draw the lightning all the time. That's just inconvenient. I can't think of a single transformation in this show that always has aura/lightning on at all times.

It'd still look the same. SS1 glows as well.

That's not a foreshadowing. The color of the eyes has nothing to do with the pupil. Furthermore, SS1 eyes have been many shades of green in the franchise. Light green, dark green, blueish green, etc. SS2 having a dark shade of green eyes isn't going to be noticeable.

The fuck makes a color "inconsistent"?

And? Changing the eye color entirely would make it easy to see it's a different kind of Super Saiyan, so you wouldn't get it mixed up with SS.

Anyone can make a sadistic facial expression. That doesn't make them look transformed. You don't look transformed when you change your facial expression. Silly logic.

It's not. Most every series has various art styles. Not every artist/animator working on a series draws the same way.

If a design isn't remarkable enough for a bunch of animators to be consistent with, then that is a problem with the design. A design should be distinct enough for people to not screw up drawing.

First off, dude just simply quote the post and reply. No need for multiple block quotes or bolded segments. Like lol how u gonna ask what i meant about inconsistent colors when I explained it the next sentence? And then you even replied to that sentence, too wtf.

Secondly, you're complaining that it SSJ1 and SSJ2 look too similar. I agree, however, it can be distinguishable if the animators put effort. How you gonna let slide them slacking off?

SSJ2 should look like the next step towards SSJ3. Longer hair. Darker eyes. Lightning signifies that the SSJ2 is bursting with energy. The sadistic facial expressing represents the effect SSJ2 has on the mind, which is to say if a Saiyan goes level 2, that means he is looking to fucking hurt you. Compare that with SSJ1 which is fueled by rage.

But yeah, I do think SSJ2 is unnecessary. Regardless, can't exactly change it now after 20 years. That's why I would focus in emphasizing what we expect from SSJ2.
