My point is that someone could easily mistake him to be SS1 in that scene, because he looks exactly like he does when he's SS1 in that scene.

They drew lightning around SS2 at certain times during fights and when they show off the transformation.

If the thing that is supposed to set it apart from SS1 isn't always present, that's a problem. You should be able to tell it's different from SS1 at any and all times, not only when there's lightning present.

It may be lazy but they don't draw lightning all the time after it's established it's SS2.

Which makes it hard to tell it apart from SS1.

2. You assume he is SS1 in that scene because of the fact that there is no lightning. Sure your average viewer won't know for sure

Mm-hmm. Glad we agree.

The series promptly address it later showing lightning. They even make it very clear when Goku explain SS transformations to fat buu.

If the series actually has to tell you how a form looks, that's a problem. You shouldn't need the series to actually explain you anything about how forms look. One look with your own eyes should be enough.
