Not really more backstory on the derelict ship, and it´s not blatant retconning, but it obviously goes into such a ridiculously far-fetched and highly dislikeable hint which relates to the eggs. I can't say more without spoiling. Bottom line, we had a bitter feeling that 1979´s Alien and everything we loved about it is on the verge of getting f*ed.
