I wish Pokemon GSC would have made it into 2000's picture -- once again, a pic snub could have made all the difference -- but 1996 was always going to take a significant portion of the Nintendo-vote. SMRPG + SM64 (+ N64) is a concentrated force that's easy to fall in line for if you like Mario, and nearly everybody's played several Mario games. LoZ:MM (+ the reference of Pokemon GSC) are powerful and varied which is great too, but I feel like the Mario games divided and are currently conquering that Nintendo support.
