Also seconding Central Park and Grimaldi's, just know Grimaldi's (the one under the Brooklyn Bridge anyway) may make you wait like an hour or so for their pizza.

Yeah, a lot of their shows, but they have two shows going on simultaneously each hour each night so there will be like ten options every day. I recommend checking out their website and seeing if anything interests you -- tons of talented people performing for affordable ticket prices.

You may prefer to avoid their improv shows (even though they are free and at their best on Mondays and Wednesdays). Sketch, stand-up, one-man shows...they have some other options. Don't be afraid to point out a show you're interested in if you like, and if I know the performers involved I'll try to help guide you from there.
