Most of which aren't inherently conservative views, they're authoritarian views which can belong to either party. slacker03150 posted... Even the conservatives like single payer health care in other nations, so yes, compared to other parts of the world Obama was pretty conservative. the conservatives in our country though are depicted as bible thumping warmongers so anyone who can avoid that image can put themselves on the left and call themselves moderate or leftist. Single-payer is an inherently socialist idea which makes it liberal no matter where you are.
