Idk why people get so irrationally angry with gender. Gender isn't what's in your pants, it's how one identifies themselves. Us westerners only see male and female, but if you try to understand that these people are defining gender as a spectrum then it makes a bit more sense. Imagine if we only thought of color as being color/not color and that's it, but these people are calling things red, blue, green, etc. Whatever X gender they're trying to say that they feel, it's just them labeling some facet of masculinity or femininity that we just take to understand as being male or female. While it might be a bit silly to say "I am Xur gender because I am asexual and I like to watch anime and read Marx," it's just a part of the weird human nature we have to label everything. It's no stranger than people who seriously identify with their horoscopes.
