Yeah, the Shibuya Diner is probably the best way. It's 2 + 1 [Other Stat], which becomes 3 + 1 [Other Stat] when raining. It does cost a little money though, but it's like 1k.

And the occasional book that increases knowledge, of course, but you usually won't want to spend time on that unless you have nothing better to do since you get occasional ways to read without passing time. If you have the spare cash, there's the drink you can buy in the Shibuya underground walkway for 5000 on Sundays. It's +1 to a stat at no time cost, and which stat it is rotates (but you have to buy it to make it rotate to the next one) but that's obviously not a reliable method, but every little bit can help.

There's also a few ways to squeeze a few extra points out of various activities, including knowledge, around mid-game for a price.
