My biggest issue with it is the imbalance of power.

If you look at the people on the Far Left and the Far Right, it's not equal. Democrats are closer to the center than Republicans.
Bernie Sanders is probably the furthest Left politician who has some degree of power. He's also arguably the most popular politician in the USA right now, but look how that worked out for him.
Meanwhile, if you look at the far Right members of the Republican party, and there's a ton, along with the many members of the Tea Party and the Alt-right. Let's not forget people like Bannon having some level of influence over the POTUS, if not the man himself.

Now compare the media. What's the furthest Left organization that actually has some level of power? The Young Turks? Most people on the street probably haven't even heard of them.
Meanwhile people like Alex Jones and organizations like Breitbart are very popular among the Right.

It's just awful.

You probably see Democrats as more centrist than Republicans because they're closer to your own biases. Look at Bernie, how many times has he defended the Venezuelan economy, and what's that country look like now? Nobody in the GOP has promoted economic ideas that are as destructive as literal socialism.
