While the program was supposedly successful in "educating" the public on legal music and video options, the MPAA states that it just couldn't handle the "hard-core repeat infringer problem" -- there wasn't much to deter bootleggers. They're pretty much right... I remember when I did managed network services support at my old job... We ended up landing a hotel company as a customer, and we managed networks for a bunch of their hotels across the country. Every day we had a bunch of DMCA violation notices we had to forward along to them because their customers would torrent porn at their hotels all the time. That was pretty much a 40 hour per week job by itself. edit: Damn it... piracy* --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
